Abstract/Description: | Hand-colored linen postcard shows view of the Adrian E. and Winifred W. Cameron residence (also given the address of 872 Rincon Lane), located on Via del Monte on lots 16 and 17, block 1631, tract 7330 in Montemalaga. Elevated view from hillside above shows single-story, stucco house with tile roof, and chimney. Santa Monica Bay and coastline of Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach are visible in background, with Santa Monica Mountains in distance. Adrian E. Cameron (1895-1967) was Director of the Palos Verdes Homes Association (ca. 1927.) This house received the Palos Verdes Art Jury's Certificate of Honor for the most notable residence architecture of 1924. Split-back postcard cancelled with "LONG BEACH / CALIF. Aug 27 1941" postmark and "BUY DEFENSE SAVINGS BONDS." Printed with "MADE IN U.S.A. by E.C. KROPP OF MILWAUKEE, WIS. --- (DKY)" and "PUB BY INDEPENDENT MAGAZINE CO., SAN PEDRO, CALIF." and numbered "31793N." |
