Abstract/Description: Color postcard image shows Spanish style, multi-story stucco building with tile roof and arched entrance ways of the Portuguese Bend Riding Club with a women and a horse at right. Postcard printed on reverse, "Portuguese Bend Riding Club, open to the public. Over 100 miles of bridle trails lead over the Palos Verdes, California, hills." Split back of postcard printed with "Published by the Palos Verdes Corporation, Rolling Hills, Calif." and "Lithographed by Green's, Inc., Long Beach, Calif." at bottom. Located at 40 Narcissa Drive in Rancho Palos Verdes, the buildings were built for Frank Vanderlip, Sr. and used as a barn and stable. Originally referred to as the Vanderlip Farmstead, in the 1950s the buildings went into private ownership and became the home of the Portuguese Bend Riding Club.
