Lewis, completed in 1957; Woodcock Building (lot 10, 24 Malaga Cove) designed by Conrad "Pete" Clark of Quigley & Clark, completed in 1959; Medical Plaza (or Barnett) Building (lot 11, 36 Malaga Cove) designed by J.V. The Plaza underwent little change between 1926 and 1950. The Plaza underwent a construction boom starting with the Starr Building (1950) which anchors the east side of the Plaza arcade. The Towle Building (1961) was the first three story building in the Plaza and featured an outdoor cafe on the south side of the building. The last building in the Plaza arcade was the Medical Plaza Building (1963). Businesses in the arcade buildings included grocery stores, medical offices, pharmacies, real estate and insurance offices, architectural firms, restaurants, banking facilities, and cleaning and laundry facilities. |
