Abstract/Description: | Image shows view of the construction site for Los Angeles County Fire Department, Station 106 building located at 27913 Indian Peak Road in Rolling Hill Estates. A construction trailer is visible at right with the station number, 'Board of Supervisors - County of Los Angeles,' names of the Rolling Hills Estates City Council, fire chief (Richard H. Houts), and the architectural firm and construction company. Pallets of bricks are visible in the foreground with two construction workers visible in the distance. The 6,000 square-foot single-story brick facility was designed by architects Black, Pagliuso, Kikuchi and O'Dowd and featured four units of firefighting vehicles, sleeping quarters for 16 firefighters, and a combination kitchen-recreation area. Station 106 was the first fire station in the City of Rolling Hills Estates and the fourth on the Peninsula. The building was dedicated October 22, 1970. |
