Courtyard Garden Interior, Peninsula Center Library

Abstract/Description: Image shows interior view of the covered courtyard garden, with planters, a bench and table and chairs. Two people are standing with four people seated at the table. Floor to ceiling windows and wood panelling are visible to the left. A car parked along the street is visible in the background. The courtyard garden was located next to the community room off of the Peninsula Center Library front entrance on Deep Valley Drive. The tri-level Peninsula Center Library, which was designed and furnished by architects A. Quincy Jones and Frederick Emmons, opened on July 17, 1967. The building occupied 64,600 sq. ft of floor space with library services on the main floor and parking facilities both above and below the main library floor. The Peninsula Center Library was remodeled and expanded in 1995, almost doubling in size from the original structure.
