Abstract/Description: | Tri-fold brochure with drawing of a woman looking out towards the ocean on front cover. Describes the work of the Olmsted Brothers throughout the United States on parks, universities, expositions, residential communities and city planning and street layout. Center foldout of brochure includes reproduction of a letter from Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr. to Henry Clarke, Director of Sales for the Palos Verdes Project, with a portion of the letter circled in red that reads: "But it is equally a fact that Palos Verdes stands head and shoulders above any other great residential community in these respects." The circled portion is followed by text describing the provision for schools, playgrounds, and parks; street layout and permanently unobstructed views; architectural controls; and maintenance of stability and permanence of the development. Sales office addresses and telephone numbers included on center fold. The back of the brochure includes directions to Palos Verdes. |
