Abstract/Description: Image shows view of the Mrs. J.E. (Estelle M.) Hanson residence, located on Via Arriba on lot 6, block 1435, tract 6884 in Malaga Cove. Side view of the house looking southeast shows wrought-iron balcony overlooking the enclosed central patio. French doors open to a terrace at left, supported by a stone retaining wall. A grassy hill is visible in foreground. This two-story, eight-room stucco house with tile roof and attached two-car garage received the Art Jury's Certificate of Honor for the most notable residence architecture of 1930. It was designed by the architectural firm of Webber and Spaulding.
