According to the "Italian Los Angeles: The Italian Resource Guide to Greater Los Angeles" web site's historical survey of Los Angeles (compiled with texts written by Gloria Ricci Lothrop, Ph.D, available online at http://www.italianlosangeles.org), "The extensive use of ironwork, tiles and windows brought from Italy contributes to the authenticity of this Tuscan villa designed by Edgar Clive in 1927." This house received an Art Jury Honorable Mention for notable architecture of 1927.
