Brownell (d. 1928), engineer for the Palos Verdes Project and General Manager of the Palos Verdes Water Company (1924-1928.) Previous to his arrival in Palos Verdes in 1922, Mr. Brownell worked as Assistant Engineer of the South Park System in Chicago, including the site of the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition, building from landscape designs by Frederick Law Olmsted, Sr.
