Abstract/Description: | Image shows view of the Mr. & Mrs. Roscoe M. Breeden [also spelled "Breedon"] residence, located on Via Aromitas on lot 1, block 1511, tract 6886 in Malaga Cove. Address on building permit card is given as 501 Via Almar. View looking west shows front of the two-story, ten-room stucco house with chimney and tile roof, with no landscaping except for the olive tree visible at left. A stone pathway leads to front door, over which a front balcony with balustrade is visible. Also known as "Tres Olivos," the Breeden house was later the summer residence of Miss Aline Barnsdall (1929), oil heiress who also owned Hollyhock House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The Breeden residence was afterwards owned by Dr. Brox. |
