Abstract/Description: Image shows view of the construction site and trailer for Los Angeles County Fire Department, Station 106 building located at 27913 Indian Peak Road in Rolling Hill Estates. A sign next to the trailer includes the station number, 'Board of Supervisors - County of Los Angeles,' names of the Rolling Hills Estates City Council, fire chief (Richard H. Houts), and the architectural firm and construction company. A man on a tractor is visible in the distance. The 6,000 square-foot single-story brick facility was designed by architects Black, Pagliuso, Kikuchi and O'Dowd and featured four units of firefighting vehicles, sleeping quarters for 16 firefighters, and a combination kitchen-recreation area. Station 106 was the first fire station in the City of Rolling Hills Estates and the fourth on the Peninsula. The building was dedicated October 22, 1970.
