Abstract/Description: | Image shows view of the Charles Henry and Cora Belle Cheney residence, located on Via del Monte on lots 15, 16, 17, and 18, block 1615, tract 6884 in Malaga Cove. Elevated view looking northeast shows south side of the two-story, stucco house with tile roof, chimney and attached two-car garage. A stucco wall follows an unpaved section of Via del Monte along front of house, where several automobiles are parked. Several workmen are visible among ladders and pieces of lumber. Santa Monica Bay and Redondo Beach coastline and pier are visible in background. Charles H. Cheney (1884-1943) was city planner for the Palos Verdes Project and served on the Palos Verdes Art Jury from its inception in 1922 through 1940. The home was sold in 1934, and later owned by Horton Walkins (nd.) |
