Abstract/Description: Images shows photo of cypress trees lining a rock stairway leading to the top of a hill. Vegetation is visible on either side of the stairway with hills in the background. Written on reverse of image in John Vanderlip's hand: "The original Palos Verdes, a model of which has been given to the Rancho de los Palos Verdes Historical Society, was never built. The original permit for it was abandoned in January, 1930 at the beginning of the Great Depression. This photo was taken from a guest house then called the Villetta. The name of "Villa Narcissa" was applied to it by Mr. & Mrs. Kelvin Cox Vanderlip in the 1950s." and signed John M. Vanderlip.
