Student visit to the White House

Abstract/Description: 'When Ronald Reagan was inaugurated Janet Collins wrote him a letter and asked to visit the White House [with the students]. This was the picture from that visit in the Map Room at the White House. Reagan spent about 35 minutes with the group of students. He told them a story about the Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson memorials. He got strength and inspiration when he walked passed them everyday. This was for grades three to six. There were about four other mother's there. Pictured in back row: unknown, Elizabeth Dole, Ronald Reagan, Janet Collins, unknown, unknown, Patricia Foltz (contributor).
