Your Story is the Peninsula's Story scanning event February 24, 2019, Peninsula Center Library, Rolling Hills Estates, CA. Frances Young was instrumental in getting Los Angeles County to turn the landfill site into a botanic garden site. The site was officially dedicated in 1960. In 1961, Frances Young established the South Coast Botanic Garden Foundation and served as its president until her retirement in 1969. |
