Black Lives Matter protest, Rancho Palos Verdes

Abstract/Description: 'Protests broke out all over the U.S. and in other countries in response to the death of Mr. George Floyd, an unarmed African-American man who died May 25, handcuffed and pinned to the ground under the knee of a Minneapolis police officer.  Mr Floyd's death was another in a long line of similar black lives lost at the hands of police. In the midst of a pandemic, over 450 people attended this protest on Saturday at the entrance of Trump National Golf Course.  The demonstrators ranged in ages from young children and teens to people in their 70s or 80s, and included young families with toddlers in strollers.  It was very moving to see people from across the Peninsula exercise their right to assemble, and together, express outrage against racism, racial injustice, police brutality, and support for the Black Lives Matter movement. This dad came with his wife and two daughters. His other daughter's sign read "My Life Matters." Location:  Rancho Palos Verdes'
