My mother's funeral

'The last time I saw my siblings and their families was at our mother's funeral in January, 2020. The first case of COVID-19 in the U.S. was announced two days before her funeral. Everything - including hospitals - shut down and/or restricted access for fear of transmitting the disease.
We were able to be with our mother during her final days, unlike the many families who have lost loved ones during the pandemic. Location:  Santa Teresa, New Mexico' , Your Story is the Peninsula's Story (YSPS) Online submission, March 15, 2021.
