Ray Destabelle

Born in Montana, Ray moved to Southern California with his family at the age of two. Except for 2 years living in Washington D.C. during World War II, he has lived in the area ever since. His father was a musician who attended USC. Although Ray lost his father when Ray was seven years old, he was inspired by him to pursue secondary education. In high school, Ray found an interest in electronics, so he eventually went on to attend the California Institute of Technology and graduated with a degree in Electronic Engineering.

Throughout all four years of college, Ray played football, in which he learned the importance of teamwork. He learned that people working in a team can get a lot more done than just one person doing his own thing. Upon graduating, he entered the aerospace industry. He worked at several Southern California companies, eventually joining the former Hughes Aircraft Company until he retired at the age of 66. Now 87, he enjoys supporting and mentoring his family, including his son Michael, his daughter Michelle, his daughter Dawn, and his four grandchildren, as family is very important to him.

In his free time, Ray enjoys a very busy schedule of concerts and theater, and also hosting and attending parties. He frequents the Bay Athletic Club to stay physically fit. He is an active member of Omnilore and a member of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Village. Location: Rolling Hills Estates, CA.

Ray’s message for the world:
“Find peace. Save the earth.”
