Nancy Way
Abstract/Description: | Nancy was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Wellesley College in Massachusetts and Masters Degree in Education from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. When choosing a location for her husband Bob’s internship during his last year of medical school, they decided to go somewhere different from where they had always lived, and with their nine-month old daughter, they moved to sunny California. After the Los Feliz area and then Pasadena where they’d had a son, they decided to move to the Palos Verdes Peninsula where the air was cleaner and there was less traffic – even in 1959! Nancy still lives in the same house they bought then – almost 59 years ago. A few years after Nancy had her third child, her husband passed away from a massive cerebral hemorrhage. Wanting to raise three children in a familiar environment where they all had good friends, she decided to stay in Palos Verdes, became a realtor, managed hearth and home, and helped her three children finish their college educations. Today, the three children are already retired, though none in Palos Verdes unfortunately. Nancy enjoys spending her time exercising, gardening, volunteering, and having too much company! Location: Palos Verdes Estates, CA. Nancy’s message for the world: “Make the most of every minute. Don’t worry about the minute before, or the minute coming up. Make the most out of what you have; don’t wish or hope, just do, and try to be happy with it.” |
