Alfred Cellier

A Californian native, Alfred spent most of his childhood in Texas. While working co-op at Texas Instruments (T.I.) and with a full scholarship from Texaco, he graduated from SMU with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After college, he went on to work for T.I. and Jet Propulsion Lab. He was part of the team that developed the first series of interplanetary spacecraft, the Mariner, that went to Venus and Mars. T.I. also granted Alfred a fellowship for a Stanford Masters degree. In 1967 he finally moved back to California, settled in Palos Verdes, and worked for TRW Space Systems for 30 years. After retiring from TRW in ’96 came three years at Hughes Electronics, in which he worked on interesting projects that involved constellations of satellite orbits.

In Alfred’s retirement years, he started looking for a classic 1958 Corvette like the one he had when he was a senior in college. After a few years of searching, he finally found a Wisconsin car that looked very similar to that first Corvette. Currently he is part of the Solid Axle Corvette Club that meets periodically and enjoys seeing other collector cars and sharing stories. Location: Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.

Alfred’s message for the world:
“Be nice to each other, and pay attention to what we’re doing to the climate and to our environment.”
