The club's tower is visible in background with buildings, tennis court and other buildings in the foreground. The location for the proposed club was the Margate area. As reported in the Palos Verdes Bulletin (January 1926, p. 1), "The site was selected by Mr. Francis B. Smith of San Francisco, a recognized authority on harbor and marine engineering, known through the country as "Dry-Dock Smith," who made a careful inspection of the entire coast line from Point Dume to Los Angeles Harbor before recommending this location.
