We would walk to school along the fire road. Back then, students who went to Ridgecrest Intermediate School went to Rolling Hills High School. Hawthorne was the dividing line. If you lived west of Hawthorne you had to go to high school in Palos Verdes Estates, and if you lived east of Hawthorne you had to go to Rolling Hills High School.
