Identified from left to right in back row: Yasu Fred Ashimoto, Tatsuno Susanna Ashimoto (donor's grandparents); and in front row: Fusako Anna Ashimoto (donor's aunt), Masao Phillip Ashimoto (donor's uncle), and Sachiko Josephine Ashimoto (donor's mother). Originally from Tottori Prefecture in Japan, the Ashimoto family was farming on the Palos Verdes Peninsula by 1930. In February 1942, they moved from the coast to Strathmore in Tulare, County. By July 1942, the family was interned in Poston, Arizona. Fusako was sent to Manzanar with her husband's family, and Josephine Sachiko went to Topaz in Utah. NotesLibrary has digital copy only.
