Rows of chairs are arranged in the middle of the room. A spiral staircase ascends from the community room floor to a balcony. The 125 seating capacity community room was located at the Peninsula Center Library front entrance on Deep Valley Drive and looked out on a landscaped courtyard on two sides.

The tri-level Peninsula Center Library, which was designed and furnished by architects A. Quincy Jones and Frederick Emmons, opened on July 17, 1967, with landscaping by Palos Verdes Begonia Farm. The building occupied 64,600 sq. ft of floor space with library services on the main floor and parking facilities both above and below the main library floor.
