When they were both a bit older, James moved to California with his family though he still managed to visit Elaine in Iowa from time to time. They finally started dating when he was 17 and she 16. After James came back to the U.S. from serving in the Navy in Japan, they got married in Iowa and both came back to California to start a business.

The business they started in 1953 did very well and supported the family including their two children who are 5 years apart. During this time the family also traveled vastly as everyone in the family loved to explore new places. Today, they have 1 daughter and 1 son, 2 grandsons, and a great granddaughter who’s 13 years old. They have family get-togethers whenever they can and enjoy their retired life very much. Location: Palos Verdes Estates, CA.

“Be productive. Whatever you do, if you want to do something or accomplish something, be a productive person.”

Elaine’s message for the world:
