Palos Verdes Peninsula Village. Palos Verdes Library District, accessed 18/01/2026, https://palosverdeshistory.org/nodes/view/7699
The Palos Verdes Peninsula Village is part of a national movement to redefine and support successful aging in America. Its mission is to enhance the quality of life for older adults who choose to live independently in the Palos Verdes Peninsula area.
Founded in 2014, the Village officially opened in January 2016 with 38 charter members, 8 charter donors, and an annual budget of approximately $100,000.
The original working board included Sherry May (President), Helen Dennis, Britt Huff, Ann Shaw, and Susan Wallace. Fran Wielin joined the board on September 14, 2015, and later became President after Sherry May resigned in 2016 due to illness.
During its formative years, the Village’s official address was the residence of Sherry and Bill May. In 2016, the organization moved to 916 Silver Spur Road, Suite 302, Rolling Hills Estates and in 2023, it relocated to a larger and more accommodating space at 375 Via Almar, Room D 101, Palos Verdes Estates.
